Maiastra silk scarf

510 RON

This is a deeply symbolic design, where you'll find traditional Romanian motifs in a minimalist color palette. The Maiastra bird is an allegorical creature from Romanian mythology. It is otherworldly, hailing from the "Other Realm," described as an exceptionally beautiful and luminous being. In some versions of the Maiastra legend, it's said to have been an emperor's daughter transformed into a bird due to a curse. The legend goes that anyone who listens to its song will rejuvenate and fill their soul with joy.

The composition draws inspiration from Horund ceramics. The Maiastra bird is depicted both as the bird itself and in the form of an emperor with long braids, dressed in traditional Romanian attire with stylized sculptural volumes. The portrait is a graphic interpretation of Constantin Brancusi's famous "Mademoiselle Pogany."

The artwork was hand-painted in watercolors and ink, then digitally processed and printed on silk.
