The La Mer Noire silk scarf is the signature piece of the Postcards from Somewhere capsule collection by Paula Herlo x Andrea Tincu, bringing together architectural landmarks, maritime symbols and landscapes that capture the charm of the Romanian seaside in a single composition.
Made from natural silk and based on an original hand-painted artwork by Andrea Tincu, the scarf stands out through its richly detailed and colourful illustration. Blue waves, a sailing boat, the lighthouse, seagulls and the elegant silhouette of the Constanța Casino create a visual universe inspired by the beauty and nostalgia of summers spent by the Black Sea.
In the foreground, the female figure dressed in vermilion red becomes a symbol of freedom, travel and the joy of discovering new places and stories. The border, inspired by the edges of a postage stamp, transforms the entire composition into an imaginary postcard dedicated to the Romanian seaside.
Through this collection, we support the Asociatia Caselor Albastre and contribute to saving the ruins of a more than 200-year-old blue house in Șona. Together, we are bringing this historic place back to life by transforming it into a summer garden theatre – a space dedicated to gatherings, creativity, art and community. Every purchase from this collection supports this project and helps preserve a valuable piece of heritage, giving the house in Șona a new life and purpose.
Each piece is carefully wrapped in golden tissue paper and delivered in an elegant box. Upon request, the scarf can be personalised with the desired name or initials.
